New Market STRONG

Join this town wide effort to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer. Karen Durbin served New Market as Town Clerk for over 14 years and was a friend to many in Town. After a long battle with breast cancer, Karen passed away in November 2020. This 2-part event is in memory of her.

Fighter 5K
Put on your sneakers, gather your buddies and run, walk or stroll the 3.1 mile course through the historic Town of New Market and adjacent neighborhoods. COURSE MAP

9 AM race start. Registration is at 8 AM. $25/person without race shirt, $30 before September 1, then increases to $35. $40/person race day. Registration opens on August 1st. Please register or donate at   https://runsignup.com/Race/MD/NewMarket/NewMarket5KFighterRun

The Party
Starting at Noon, the Derby will host an FUNdraising event in the afternoon! Basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle, fun activities for the kids and Moon Donkey! The Derby is generously donating 10% of their proceeds from Noon on to New Market STRONG.

This event is volunteer staffed and all facilities
are 100% donated — proceeds will be donated locally to the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund partnered with
Frederick Health Hospital Cancer Center; non-profit 501(c)(3) tax status.
