THE NEW MARKET CIVIC PARTNERSHIP, INC.
13 W Main St. ❖ New Market ❖ MD 21774

I’m writing to tell you about an exciting opportunity that is available to property owners in New Market’s
New Market has once again been selected for a Façade Improvement Grant under the state of Maryland’s
Community Legacy Program. This kind of grant allows property owners to undertake certain façade
improvement projects and be reimbursed for up to 50%, and in some cases, more, of their expense. The New
Market Civic Partnership, Inc., is once again administering these grants for the Town of New Market.
We are happy to report that over the last two years, 15 of your neighbors have received grants through this
program—you can see the impact as you drive down Main Street.
If your property is within the Sustainable District (a map is on the back of this page—the shaded blue part), and
your project falls into that area, you could be eligible for a grant.
Eligible projects include:
• Exterior scraping, caulking, and painting of a façade;
• Window repair and replacement;
• Repair, replacement of siding, shutters, and trim;
• ADA compliance improvements;
• Restoration of original appearances
• Visible foundation repair;
• Other façade improvement projects.
If you wish to apply for a grant, you must attend one of two pre-application workshops: via Zoom on
Wednesday, March 9 at 7PM, or face-to-face at Town Hall, Saturday, March 19 at 10AM. (Note: these dates
have been updated since an earlier announcement.)
To attend the Zoom conference, you must register beforehand via email firstname.lastname@example.org or 301-882-7313
by 5PM, March 7. To attend the March 19 meeting, you must register at the door.
At these sessions we will describe the program in more detail, review the application process, and answer
questions you may have. The applications will be available after the second session.
After two years the program has had a visible impact on the neighborhood. We invite you to our workshop to
learn more about the benefits this program offers.
